Today we made our way from Dietikon to Herisau, but first we needed to try and find a plug adaptor so we could charge our communication devices. I know how that sounds, however they’re also our means of booking travel and accommodation, as well as our means of paying for things so it would be ideal to have battery in at least one. We walked to the mall, suitcase in tow, and found that every second shop sells designer brands like Guess, Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss. We managed to get an adaptor and then experienced the nicest mall toilets, where every individual gets their own hand towel (and the toilets were free! – a bonus in Europe apparently.)

Our walk to the train station today wasn’t as adventurous as to our accommodation yesterday, but it was still quite long. The train from Dietikon to Zurich, and then to Gossau, was quite expensive but thankfully our host, David, offered to collect us there so we didn’t need to make our way all the way to Herisau.
David took us to his lovely family home to drop off our gear and have a short rest, before taking us to visit Rheinfall. He popped off to do some lawn mowing while we spent a couple of hours walking around, taking photos of the waterfall and surrounds. Rheinfall is the most powerfall waterfall in Switzerland. It is 150m wide and 23m high, and in summer has an average water flow of 600m3/s. Fun Fact: The highest water flow ever measured there was 1250m3/s in 1965.
Once David came to pick us up again (and after going for a walk to get up close and personal with the waterfall), we raced home, collected Lupita and Chelsy (David’s wife and dog respectively) and ran up the hill to catch the sunset. The view was so beautiful and worth delaying dinner for.
The weather has been so amazing the last couple of days, not a cloud to be seen.
Maybe Switzerland just doesn’t get clouds.
We will see.
