This morning we had a nice sleep in.

Then, we needed to make a decision about whether to head to our next destination or stay put for another night, and quickly, as deciding to stay meant finding new accommodation.

We have been enjoying our stay so much that it was a relatively easy yes, but finding new accommodation proved to be a bit tricky.

Our new room showed its age. The room sunk in the centre, so much so that the wardrobe was propped up with wooden planks on one side to make it level. It was a huge room though and quite charming with all its character and décor – a massive contrast to where we had just come from where we walked into the room and basically walked straight into the bed (which we had to climb over to get from one side to the other).

Once we had checked in an dropped off our belongings, we did a bit of shopping – for DJ. We got him a couple of sports coats, a nice linen shirt and some shorts, all Italian made.

We had tapas for lunch again and todays gelato total was 2.

Honestly we spent most of our time just wandering around the alley ways, enjoying watching the street artists and the gondolas.

We’d asked some locals for some suggestions of where to eat for dinner. We decided on a place called Timones. It was quite a walk from the island we were on, but when they said it was a good place if you are looking for meals with meat they weren’t wrong. The restaurant was packed, the portions were huge and they were yummy.

After dinner we walked the canals. Life carries on late into the night here.
We made our way to the ferry terminal and caught the ferry back up the canals to see the islands from a different perspective.
Venice is so pretty, even at night time.
