Very thankful we booked a slightly later train this morning.

Even though we were staying right next to the train station, an early morning wake up just wouldn’t have been fun.

We had a couple of hours on the train, which was quite a cool way of seeing more of the countryside as we travelled.

We arrived at the train station to a warm welcome from Hannah, Alex and Christine, and soon discovered Munster is the bicycle capital of Germany.

There was even a bit of a parking garage for bikes (several stories)!

After popping our gear in the car, we spent a couple of hours wondering around the city, eating at the local market and perusing the shops.

Munster is such a pretty place!

It’s very pedestrian friendly (which makes sense if people bike everywhere), and has such a different feel to all the bigger cities we’ve been to.

We popped home for a rest before getting organised for dinner.

Darren got to play with the robot lawn mower (one of the highlights for him, he thinks we could get one for home).

It was quite nice to relax for a bit, we haven’t really made time to do much of that.

We had some appetisers and champagne at home before heading out for dinner by the harbour, at Vapianos.

I was put off pizza by the Italian restaurant in Hamburg, so zoodles (zucchini noodles) it was for me and I can confirm this was a good choice.

We were hoping to sit outside as the weather was beautiful all day, but it suddenly started raining, so we decided on the dry option of inside dining.

The rain stopped just long enough for us to get back to the cars, and then we got a thundery display on the way home.

Planning to see some castles tomorrow before we head to Cologne.

KJ xx
