Today was our one full day in Bergen.

We had a lazier (DJ would say relaxed) morning, had breakfast and then took our time getting organised for the day.

We meandered through town to the park, it feels like we are more in holiday mode now, and then to the wharf (via a Belgian chocolate store…) where we found the famous fish market – lots of places cooking fresh seafood, as well as selling seafood (including lots of caviar) and fresh berries.

We carried on around the wharf to visit the boat houses of Bryggen (also famous) and snapped a few shots before finding a pose at the fish market where we ate the most expensive lunch, 900NOK ($160!), of seafood and salad – king crab, halibut, mixed seafood skewers and whale meat (which tastes like beef with a different texture).

It was delicious but this gave a new meaning to ‘Norway is expensive’.

Headed back to the hotel for a couple of hours rest – not sure if the tiredness was because of all the late nights and sooo much walking, so much food for lunch, or maybe it was just the sheer thought of the cost of lunch and how many hours I’ll need to work to pay for it!

Feeling refreshed a few hours later, we got a takeaway pizza for dinner which we ate in the park before walking back to Bryggen for golden hour.

It was such a stunning day, I was stoked to be able to wear summer clothes and again we keep hearing we have been fortunate with the weather in Bergen because usually it always rains!!

Feeling very thankful for the weather, and the opportunities we have already had to visit such cool places.

Crazy to think this is only really the start of our trip!
